While the gallery is closed for winter, I am painting in the space. Isleton, CA, is pretty pokey at this time of year. It’s a good time to hunker in, away from the fog and rain, and see what comes forth. What has come forth last month is a series of paintings of the post-sunset glow in wintry Sierra Foothills. Just as I did with the Rio Grande Gorge a few years ago, I seem to be set on a subject somewhat obsessively. But I think painting one subject over and over again is not the worst intention. I know that I learn a lot about how I want to represent images.
Will keep everyone posted about what shows are happening in May when F and Main reopens. I am getting a good line-up of community and regional arts and crafts to display. Meanwhile, there will probably be a St. Patty’s Day gig with some lively music for community entertainment. I just need to dig up the musicians.
Much light to everyone in these darkish months.
